Outdoors and swimming pool
The villa has a nice garden with cypresses, olive trees, flowers and lemon plants in old terracotta vases. The lawn also has typical stone paving and beautiful sculptures made by Antonio Manzi. The swimming pool is in front of the portico and boasts a great view of the Tuscan hills and of San Gimignano. The pool is bean-shaped and is 12 metres by 6 with a depth of 1-3m, making it great for swimmers. The bathing area has cotto paving and is complete with beach umbrellas, sunbeds, a round hydromassage (diameter of 2.5m, 1m deep) with cold water and a stonework barbecue for outdoor meals or parties. The garden at the back of the villa has a table and chairs for breakfasts. Parking within the property.
Interior
Villa la Fonte is elegant and well-kept, with precious cotto flooring and luxurious furniture which create enjoyable contrasts.
Access to the villa is via an outdoor staircase which leads to the first floor, with a spacious loggia and garden, which leads to the dining room and large living area with fireplace, satellite TV and direct outdoor access, a large and very well-kept kitchen, and one bathroom with shower.
The indoor staircase leads to the second floor with two double bedrooms, one bedroom with two French beds and air conditioning, one bathroom with Jacuzzi and shower and access to a balcony and to a large wardrobe, two bathrooms with shower. All bedrooms have satellite TVs. An indoor staircase leads down to the lower floor, where guests will find a spacious living room with a large fireplace, satellite TV and a spacious dining area (with two small, high windows), a large, well-equipped kitchen (one small, high window), one bathroom with shower, a gym and a large washing room with washing machine, sink, iron and ironing board.
Location
The villa is in the beautiful hills of the Chianti area, in the residential area of a small town.
Facilities
Villa la Fonte has wifi, central heating, air conditioning only in the bedroom with two beds, a fitness room, a Jacuzzi in one of the bathrooms, a highchair and baby bed, and complimentary toiletries in the bathrooms.
Services
The price includes: bathroom, bedroom and kitchen linen as well as swimming towels (all changed weekly), internet, water, gas (heating not included), a highchair and a baby bed. Upon request and to be paid for at the property: dinners, hired help.
Important information
The swimming pool and hydromassage tub are available from May 1st to September 30th.
Activities and distances
The house is in a marvelous location in the heart of Chianti, between the cities of Siena and Florence. We suggest visiting the many famous hamlets like San Gimignano and Volterra, and discovering the famous Via Francigena. You can also taste the local wines and products that Chianti has to offer, go horse riding and on other outings and hikes.
900 m Marcialla (groceries and restaurant), 2 km Tavarnelle Val di Pesa (all kinds of shops and supermarket), 9 km Barberino Val di Pesa, 22 km San Gimignano, 36 km Florence, 46 km Siena, 47 km Volterra.
