Outdoors and Swimming Pool
Borgo Badia is immersed in the Umbrian countryside, surrounded by ancient olive trees in a small oasis of peace and calm. The property has a large (10,000 sq. m.) garden, well-kept with many cotto vases, flowers, bushes and trees, which is completely enclosed with bushes and metal fences. The main building has a large stonework portico for outdoor meals with a large table, as well as 2 portable barbecues and a gazebo with table. “La Cascina”, which is separate from the Borgo, is in a reserved spot and also has a fenced garden (400 sq. m.) with two entrance gates and a small portico for outdoor dinners with a table, chairs and a portable barbecue. “La Cascina” is about 150 metres away from the rectangular swimming pool, which is 7 metres by 15 with a depth of 1-1.7m, in a beautiful garden with lawn and olive trees, in a quiet, panoramic position. There is a bathing area around the pool, with 25 sunbeds, three beach umbrellas, 7 parasol gazebos and an outdoor shower. Guests will also find a ping-pong table, a see-saw and a slide. The outdoor areas are all well-kept and maintained. Access to the property is via a footpath and gate.

Interior
The entire hamlet (about 520 sq. m.), made up of 6 apartments, has been completely renovated and is made up of two separate buildings: the main building “Borgo Badia” and “la Cascina”. The property has been well-cured in every detail, such as the antique furniture, rustic tables, wrought-iron beds, linen curtains, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The ground floor entrance leads to the main building “Bordo Badia” with a table, a TV, a cooking corner (electric oven, cooking stove with four stoves, small fridge with freezer, extractor fan, toaster, moka, blender, orange juicer, kettle), a double bedroom with air conditioning, a bathroom with shower. The entire “Abete” apartment is ideal for the disabled. A staircase leads up from the entrance hall to the first floor, where there are two apartments: “Ulivo” has a living room with table and TV (and access, via 7 steps, to a small private garden with furnished gazebo), a cooking corner (electric oven, cooking stove with four stoves, small fridge with freezer, extractor fan, toaster, moka, blender, orange juicer, kettle), a double bedroom with a four-poster bed and air conditioning, a bathroom with shower. “Limone” features a spacious living room with table which can host all the guests, a sofa, a fireplace, a TV, access to a partly covered terrace complete with table and chairs, a cooking corner (electric oven, cooking stove with four stoves, small fridge with freezer, extractor fan, toaster, moka, blender, orange juicer, kettle), a double bedroom with air conditioning, a bathroom with shower. On the opposite side of the building, next to the footpath and gate, guests can enter (via 9 steps) the “Cedro” apartment with a living room with table, a TV, a cooking corner (electric oven, cooking stove with four stoves, small fridge with freezer, extractor fan, toaster, moka, blender, orange juicer, kettle), a double bedroom with air conditioning, a bathroom with shower.
The other independent building “La Cascina” (about 120 sq. m.) is in a separate part of the property with two small entrance gates. It is a beautiful independent house in stone and bricks dating back to the 17th Century and completely renovated in 2009. There are two doors leading to the ground floor, with two sofas, TV, wood beams and stone elements on the walls, a large kitchen (electric oven, cooking stove with four stoves, small fridge with freezer, extractor fan, toaster, moka, blender, orange juicer, kettle) with access to a small furnished portico for outdoor dinners. A small studio corner completes the ground floor, in what used to be the old wine cellar, as well as a bathroom with shower. Next to the ground floor entrance, an iron and wooden staircase leads up to the first floor with three double bedrooms with air conditioning, plus a bathroom with shower.

Location
Borgo Badia is in the town of Castiglione del Lago, close to Lake Trasimeno, and is surrounded by olive trees in a panoramic location overlooking the Umbrian countryside, making it perfect for relaxing walks. The hamlet is a unique offer, perfect for groups of friends looking to spend their holidays together whilst maintaining their own individual privacy.

The price included bathroom, bedroom and kitchen linen (changed weekly), internet, highchair and baby bed. Upon request: swimming towel rental (10 euros per towel), hired help, babysitter, cook, cookery courses.

Important information
Swimming pool available from May 1st to September 30th. Small animals are permitted at the price of 50 euros. There is a small “Circolo” (club) run by the owners close to the property which, upon request, can prepare delicious dinners and breakfasts.

Activities and Distances
Borgo Badia is at Badia, close to Castiglione del Lago. We suggest going on a guided tour of the vineyards, of the ancient olive grove and the wine cellar in the hamlet. The town of Badia is in the hills overlooking Lake Trasimeno, and is the perfect starting point for exploring many of Umbria’s historic towns, as well as important Tuscan centres like Cortona, Montepulciano and the marvellous Terre Cretesi area, all an hour’s drive away. Guests can also visit Castiglione del Lago, a mediaeval hamlet in Umbria, with its historic city centre, the Rocca del Leone, Palazzo della Corgna, and San Domenico church. The lakeside is perfect for those who love the sun, sport, long walks and hiking.
